Every sword we make is handcrafted individually, allowing us to adjust many of its specifications to suit your preferences.

When placing your order, you can request your preferred:

  • weight,

  • blade length,

  • point of balance (POB),

  • grip length,

Before production begins, we will review your requirements and contact you to confirm which specifications can be achieved.

Because every sword is made and finished by hand, slight variations in the final dimensions or weight may occur. These small differences are a natural part of traditional craftsmanship and do not affect the sword's quality or performance.

Our goal is always to produce a sword that matches your requested specifications as closely as possible while maintaining proper handling, balance, durability, and historical proportions.

Overview

Inspired by historical sabres from Eastern Europe and Eurasia, this long sabre represents the evolution of curved single-edged weapons designed for speed, reach, and powerful cutting techniques.

Featuring an elongated curved blade, this weapon combines excellent cutting ability with extended reach and fluid handling. Its design reflects the influence of mounted warfare traditions, where mobility, timing, and effective cutting strikes were essential.

Rather than being an exact replica of a specific historical example, this long sabre is a modern interpretation created to preserve the character, balance, and handling qualities of historical sabres while meeting today's standards for durability, safety, and performance.

Designed for historical reenactment, martial arts training, and collectors, it offers a unique alternative to traditional European swords while maintaining the functionality of a handcrafted fighting weapon.

Historical Inspiration

Long sabres developed across various regions of Europe and Eurasia, influenced by the weapon traditions of steppe cultures, nomadic warriors, and later medieval cavalry forces.

The curved single-edged blade was especially effective for mounted combat, allowing powerful cutting attacks while maintaining control during fast movements. Compared to straight swords, sabres offered different handling characteristics, emphasizing fluid motion, edge alignment, and efficient cuts.

Throughout the medieval period, curved blades appeared in many forms, from early steppe-influenced weapons to later European sabre traditions. Their development reflects the adaptation of weapons to different fighting environments and combat styles.

This long sabre draws inspiration from these historical traditions while being adapted for modern reenactment use. Its proportions, balance, and construction provide the dynamic handling characteristics expected from a curved historical weapon while maintaining the durability required for training and controlled combat.

Construction and Handling

The curved blade creates a distinctive handling experience compared to straight medieval swords. The geometry of the blade naturally supports powerful cutting movements while maintaining speed and precision.

The extended length provides additional reach, while the carefully optimized weight distribution allows the sabre to remain responsive and comfortable during use.

Each sabre is individually handcrafted, with attention given to blade curvature, balance, and overall handling characteristics to create a functional weapon rather than a decorative piece.

Materials and Heat Treatment

The blade is made from high-quality 50HF spring steel, selected for its excellent balance between toughness, flexibility, and impact resistance.

Each blade is heat-treated to an optimal hardness of 48 HRC, providing the durability and resilience required for historical combat applications.

This allows the blade to absorb impacts, resist permanent deformation, and maintain reliable performance during regular training and controlled fighting.

Designed for Reenactment Combat

This long sabre is designed for historical reenactment, martial arts training, demonstrations, and collectors interested in curved historical weapons.

Its combination of reach, speed, and cutting performance makes it an excellent choice for those looking for a weapon outside the traditional European sword tradition while still requiring a durable and functional fighting tool.

Handcrafted in our family forge in Poland, each sabre combines traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing methods to create a reliable historical weapon.
