Individual Sword Parameters – Your Requirements, Our Execution!

We want your sword to perfectly meet your needs. That’s why we give you the opportunity to specify your preferred parameters when placing an order. If you have specific requests regarding weight, blade length, balance point, or other details, please indicate them.

After receiving your guidelines, our team will thoroughly analyze the possibilities of fulfilling them and will contact you to confirm whether we can meet your expectations.

Remember that each of our swords is a craftsman's work. The process of making and final finishing is done manually, which gives each piece a unique character. Therefore, the final parameters of the finished sword may differ slightly from those ordered. This is a natural feature of handmade production and attests to the authenticity of your weapon. However, we assure you that we will make every effort to ensure that the sword closely matches your original specifications.

Variant with a Larger, Heavier Head: This option features a more massive head, which results in a slightly greater overall weight of the sword. However, thanks to the proper distribution of mass, this variant provides exceptional balance, making it extremely dynamic and precise in use. Ideal for those who value realistic sensations and excellent control during fencing.

Two Variants for Optimal Matching:

We understand that the preferences and needs of reconstructors are diverse. That is why we offer this sword model in two variants, so that everyone can find the perfect tool for their activities:

Lightweight Variant: The second option is a sword with reduced weight, achieved through the optimization of the blade and other components. This variant is easier to maneuver and less taxing, which can be crucial during long training sessions or performances. An excellent choice for those seeking agility and less fatigue.

Early Medieval Sword Type H with Petersen Type H Pommel – An Icon of the Viking Age!

Transport yourself to the era of Viking conquests and the shaping of early medieval Europe with our faithful replica of the Type H sword featuring a distinctive triangular pommel, classified as Petersen Type H. This iconic weapon, primarily dated to the 9th and 10th centuries, has been created for history enthusiasts and reenactors seeking authentic and functional weaponry for training, demonstrations, and safe duels.

Authenticity and Functionality in One:

Our sword stands out for its solid craftsmanship and attention to detail, in accordance with historical patterns. The long, straight blade (often classified as Type X in Oakeshott's typology), combined with a characteristic simple crossguard and the remarkably recognizable triangular pommel of Type H, provides excellent balance and control. This design was widely used in Northern Europe and beyond, and its effectiveness in close combat is undeniable. The Type H pommel (according to Petersen's typology) was often crafted from several parts, allowing for rich decorations and inlays, although simpler, utilitarian versions also existed.

Origin and Discoveries:

Swords with Type H pommels (Peterson) are among the most widespread and recognizable types of swords from the Viking period. Their geographical range is incredibly broad, reflecting the intense contacts and migrations of populations at that time. Examples of such swords have been discovered throughout Scandinavia, in the British Isles (including in the famous Viking graves), in Germany, France, and across vast areas of Eastern Europe, including Poland (e.g., numerous finds from warrior graves, particularly from the regions of Pomerania, Greater Poland, or Silesia) and Kievan Rus. They are often found in burial contexts, frequently in richly furnished graves, underscoring their status as symbols of the warrior and power. They constitute invaluable testimonies to the art of blacksmithing and craftsmanship from the early Middle Ages.

Ideal for Reenactments and Duels:

This sword has been designed with durability and safety in mind, making it an excellent choice for reenactors wishing to recreate battles from the Viking and early medieval periods. Its construction makes it suitable for controlled dueling, providing both authentic experiences and the necessary durability. With it, your historical reenactments will gain even greater realism, allowing you to feel the weight of history in your hands.

Exceptional Quality of Materials – A Guarantee of Durability and Safety!

At the heart of each of our swords lies carefully selected steel and a precise hardening process, which together ensure unmatched quality and safety of use. Our swords are made from high-quality 50HF steel, which is valued in the industry for its excellent mechanical properties.

Each blade is precisely hardened to an optimal hardness of 48 HRC (on the Rockwell scale). This is the result of years of experience and testing. Over the years, we have experimented with various combinations of steel and hardness, seeking the ideal balance. We believe that the combination of 50HF steel with a hardness of 48 HRC is the golden mean that makes our swords exceptionally functional:

  • Flexibility and Resistance to Deformation: Thanks to this combination, the sword is appropriately flexible, allowing it to absorb impacts and vibrations during combat. Most importantly, despite this flexibility, it does not undergo permanent deformation, returning to its original shape.

  • Optimal Hardness without Brittleness: The blade is hard enough to maintain an edge and withstand intense use, yet it is not brittle. This minimizes the risk of the sword breaking during dynamic duels, which is crucial for your safety.
