Individual Sword Parameters – Your Requirements, Our Execution!

We want your sword to perfectly meet your needs. That’s why we give you the opportunity to specify your preferred parameters when placing an order. If you have specific wishes regarding the weight, blade length, balance point, or other details, please indicate them.

Upon receiving your guidelines, our team will carefully analyze the possibilities of their realization and contact you to confirm whether we can meet your expectations.

Remember that each of our swords is a craftsman's work. The process of creating and final finishing is done manually, which gives each piece a unique character. Therefore, the final parameters of the finished sword may slightly differ from those ordered. This is a natural feature of hand production and signifies the authenticity of your weapon. However, we assure you that we will make every effort to ensure the sword closely matches your original specifications.

Early Medieval Sword with Crossguard and Pommel Peterson Type N – Stand Out on the Reconstruction Field!

Step into the heart of the Viking Age and early Middle Ages with our unique reproduction of a sword featuring a distinctive hilt classified as Petersen type N. This weapon, although stylistically similar to other popular types, stands out due to its unique crossguard design, making it an extremely interesting choice for history enthusiasts and re-enactors seeking authentic and functional weaponry for training, demonstrations, and safe duels.

Authenticity and Precision in Detail:

Our sword is distinguished by solid craftsmanship and attention to detail, in line with historical patterns. It features a long, straight blade (most often classified as type X in Oakeshott's typology), which guarantees an excellent balance between cutting power and thrusting capability. The key element that sets this model apart is its crossguard (hawk). In Petersen's typology, type N is characterized by a crossguard that is often slimmer and more elongated towards the bottom, with a tendency to taper subtly towards the blade. The pommel, on the other hand, is often shaped like a rounded "mushroom" (as in type X), providing excellent balance and a comfortable grip. The entire construction of the type N sword was commonly used mainly in the 9th and 10th centuries, and its effectiveness in hand-to-hand combat is undeniable.

Origin and Finds:

Swords with a type N hilt (Petersen) are valuable archaeological finds that shed light on the evolution of weaponry during the Viking Age and early Middle Ages. Although they may be less numerous than some other types, their unique form reflects regional preferences or specific periods of popularity. They have been found in Viking and early medieval areas of Europe, including Scandinavia, the British Isles, and Eastern Europe, including Poland. Their presence in grave contexts or settlements emphasizes their role as tools of warriors, testifying to the high level of craftsmanship of the time. Each example of type N is a testament to a rich history and the art of blacksmithing.

Ideal for Reenactment and Duels:

This sword has been designed with durability and safety in mind, making it an excellent choice for re-enactors wishing to recreate battles from the early Middle Ages. Its carefully crafted construction makes it suitable for controlled duels, providing both authentic experiences and the required durability. With it, your historical recreations will gain even greater realism, and you will be able to feel the spirit of the Viking Age in your hands.

Exceptional Quality of Materials – A Guarantee of Durability and Safety!

At the heart of each of our swords lies carefully selected steel and a precise hardening process, which together ensure unparalleled quality and safety of use. Our swords are made from high-quality 50HF steel, which is valued in the industry for its excellent mechanical properties.

Each blade is precisely hardened to an optimal hardness of 48 HRC (on the Rockwell scale). This is the result of years of experience and testing. Over the years, we have experimented with various combinations of steel and hardness, seeking the ideal balance. We believe that the combination of 50HF steel with a hardness of 48 HRC represents the golden mean that makes our swords exceptionally functional:

  • Flexibility and Resistance to Deformation: Thanks to this combination, the sword is appropriately flexible, allowing it to absorb impacts and vibrations during combat. Most importantly, despite this flexibility, it does not suffer from permanent deformations, returning to its original shape.

  • Optimal Hardness without Brittleness: The blade is hard enough to maintain its edge and withstand intense use, yet it is not brittle. This minimizes the risk of the sword breaking during dynamic duels, which is crucial for your safety.
