Individual Parameters of Swords – Your Requirements, Our Execution!

We want your sword to perfectly meet your needs. That's why we give you the opportunity to specify your preferred parameters when placing your order. If you have specific requests regarding weight, blade length, balance point, or other details, please indicate them.

Upon receiving your guidelines, our team will carefully analyze the possibilities of fulfilling them and will contact you to confirm whether we can meet your expectations.

Remember that each of our swords is a craftsman's work. The process of making and finishing is done manually, which gives each piece a unique character. Therefore, the final parameters of the finished sword may slightly differ from those ordered. This is a natural feature of handmade production and attests to the authenticity of your weapon. However, we assure you that we will make every effort to ensure that the sword closely matches your original specifications.

Overview

Inspired by European falchions from the 13th to 15th centuries, this weapon represents one of the most distinctive single-edged sword designs of the Middle Ages.

Characterized by its broad blade and powerful cutting profile, the falchion was designed to deliver strong and effective strikes while maintaining the speed and maneuverability expected from a one-handed sword.

Rather than being an exact replica of a specific historical example, this falchion is a modern interpretation created to preserve the appearance, balance, and handling characteristics of historical weapons while meeting today's standards for durability, safety, and performance.

Designed for historical reenactment, medieval combat training, HEMA practitioners, and collectors, it offers a unique alternative to traditional double-edged swords while maintaining the functionality of a real fighting weapon.

Historical Inspiration

The falchion was used throughout Europe mainly between the 13th and 15th centuries, with examples appearing in different forms across regions such as England, France, Italy, and Central Europe.

Unlike the traditional double-edged knightly sword, the falchion featured a single-edged blade, often with a broader cutting section near the tip. This design provided excellent cutting performance while remaining a practical and versatile weapon.

Historical falchions varied significantly in shape and construction. Some resembled large knives with simple blades, while others were closer in appearance to conventional swords with refined guards and pommels. Despite these differences, they shared a common purpose: providing an effective cutting weapon suitable for medieval combat.

This falchion draws inspiration from historical examples while being adapted for modern reenactment combat. Its proportions and construction preserve the distinctive character of medieval single-edged weapons while providing the durability required for training and controlled fighting.

Construction and Handling

The single-edged blade gives the falchion a unique handling experience compared to traditional medieval swords. Its blade geometry provides strong cutting performance while maintaining good control and maneuverability.

The forward-weighted design enhances cutting momentum without sacrificing responsiveness, making it suitable for dynamic fencing techniques and historical combat practice.

Each falchion is individually handcrafted, with attention given to blade geometry, weight distribution, and overall handling characteristics to create a functional weapon rather than a decorative replica.

Materials and Heat Treatment

The blade is made from high-quality 50HF spring steel, selected for its excellent balance between toughness, flexibility, and impact resistance.

Each blade is heat-treated to an optimal hardness of 48 HRC, providing the durability and resilience required for historical combat use.

This combination allows the blade to absorb impacts, resist permanent deformation, and maintain reliable performance during regular training and controlled fighting.

Designed for Reenactment Combat

This medieval falchion is designed for historical reenactment, HEMA training, medieval demonstrations, and collectors interested in unusual medieval weapons.

Its distinctive single-edged blade and powerful cutting characteristics make it an excellent choice for those looking for a historically inspired weapon with a unique identity beyond the traditional knightly sword.

Handcrafted in our family forge in Poland, each falchion combines traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing methods to create a durable and reliable historical weapon.
