Custom Sword Specifications

Every sword we make is handcrafted individually, allowing us to adjust many of its specifications to suit your preferences.

When placing your order, you can request your preferred:

  • weight,

  • blade length,

  • point of balance (POB),

  • grip length,

  • overall length,

  • and other technical details.

Before production begins, we will review your requirements and contact you to confirm which specifications can be achieved.

Because every sword is made and finished by hand, slight variations in the final dimensions or weight may occur. These small differences are a natural part of traditional craftsmanship and do not affect the sword's quality or performance.

Our goal is always to produce a sword that matches your requested specifications as closely as possible while maintaining proper handling, balance, durability, and historical proportions.

Classic Blade Variant

This blade profile features a gradual taper towards the tip, allowing for greater flexibility in the design of the fuller (blade groove). Depending on your preferences and requirements, the fuller can be made narrow, wide, or even double.

This level of customization allows the sword to be precisely adjusted to the user's expectations, influencing both the overall balance and the cutting and thrusting characteristics of the blade.

Two Blade Options for the Perfect Balance

We understand that every reenactor has different preferences and fighting styles. That is why we offer two blade profiles, allowing you to choose the option that best matches your historical interests and intended use.

Classic Blade

Featuring a gradual taper towards the tip, this blade profile provides an excellent balance between cutting performance, thrusting capability, and overall handling.

This versatile design reflects the proportions commonly found in medieval swords and is a great choice for those looking for a well-rounded weapon suitable for various fencing techniques.

Wide Base with Narrow Tip Blade

This blade profile features a wider base near the guard, providing strong cutting characteristics, while the narrow and reinforced tip improves thrusting performance and precision.

Inspired by historical swords developed for changing battlefield conditions, this design offers greater versatility for techniques involving both powerful cuts and controlled thrusts.

Wide Base, Narrow Tip Blade Variant

This blade profile combines strong cutting performance with excellent thrusting capability. The wider base near the crossguard provides increased blade mass and stability, allowing for powerful cuts while maintaining good control.

Towards the tip, the blade narrows significantly, creating a precise and reinforced point designed for accurate thrusting techniques. This type of blade geometry reflects the development of late medieval swords, where versatility against different types of opponents became increasingly important.

The optimized weight distribution of this blade allows for excellent balance and maneuverability, providing greater control and comfort during use.

The fuller extends from the crossguard to approximately one-third or two-thirds of the blade length, depending on the desired characteristics and individual optimization of each sword.

This variant is an ideal choice for those who value a versatile sword capable of combining powerful cuts with precise thrusting techniques.

Overview

Inspired by European swords from the High and Late Middle Ages, this medieval sword represents one of the most recognizable forms of the classic knightly weapon.

Designed as a versatile one-handed sword, it combines effective cutting ability, precise handling, and historical proportions. Its balanced construction makes it suitable for a wide range of medieval fencing techniques, from powerful cuts to controlled defensive movements.

Rather than being an exact replica of a specific historical find, this sword is a modern interpretation created to preserve the appearance, balance, and handling characteristics of medieval swords while meeting today's standards for durability, safety, and performance.

Designed for historical reenactment, medieval combat training, HEMA practitioners, and collectors, it offers the reliability and functionality expected from a handcrafted fighting sword.

Historical Inspiration

The medieval sword was one of the most important weapons of European warriors from approximately the 11th to the 15th centuries. Throughout this period, sword designs evolved alongside changes in armor, fighting techniques, and battlefield requirements.

Early medieval swords focused primarily on powerful cutting attacks, while later designs developed narrower and stiffer blades to improve thrusting capabilities against increasingly advanced armor. Despite these changes, the sword remained valued for its versatility, balance, and symbolic importance.

Historical examples show a wide variety of blade shapes, hilt designs, and proportions. From simple battlefield weapons to richly decorated status symbols, medieval swords reflected both practical needs and the craftsmanship of their makers.

This sword draws inspiration from historical European designs while being adapted for modern reenactment combat. Its proportions, construction, and handling characteristics provide the experience of a functional medieval weapon while maintaining the durability required for regular training and controlled fighting.

Construction and Handling

Designed with a focus on balance and maneuverability, this one-handed sword provides a responsive feel while maintaining enough presence for powerful strikes.

The blade geometry can be adapted to different preferences, allowing for variations focused on cutting performance, thrusting capability, or a balanced combination of both.

The carefully selected proportions of the blade, guard, and pommel create a sword that is comfortable in the hand and suitable for extended training sessions, demonstrations, and historical combat practice.

Each sword is individually handcrafted, with attention given to weight distribution, point of balance, and overall handling characteristics.

Materials and Heat Treatment

The blade is made from high-quality 50HF spring steel, selected for its excellent balance between toughness, flexibility, and resistance to impact.

Each blade is heat-treated to an optimal hardness of 48 HRC, providing the combination of durability and resilience required for historical combat applications.

This allows the blade to absorb impacts, resist permanent deformation, and maintain reliable performance during regular use.

Designed for Reenactment Combat

This medieval sword is designed for reenactors, HEMA practitioners, collectors, and anyone interested in functional historical weapons.

Unlike decorative replicas, it is built as a practical sword intended for training, demonstrations, and controlled combat. Every piece combines historical inspiration with modern craftsmanship to create a durable and reliable weapon.

Handcrafted in our family forge in Poland, each sword carries the character of traditional blacksmithing combined with modern production methods.
